Details

Join us for the first public performance by this unique inclusive ensemble, featuring both disabled and non-disabled musicians, which formed following workshops between RNS and Candoco Dance Company: RNS Moves.

This 45-minute performance will include one of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons reimagined by the ensemble, plus two specially commissioned new works by Agustín Fernández and Adrian Lee, written specifically for this ensemble and the individuals within it. The performance will be followed by a short Q & A session.

Agustín Fernandez describes the experience of writing his piece, LoA as “one of channelling the energy, the struggle and ultimately the triumph of these wonderful players over adversity.” LoA is a fantasia on the Northumbrian traditional tune Lads of Alnwick, and the acronymic title also refers to the Spanish word ‘loa’, meaning ‘eulogy’ or ‘praise’.

Adrian Lee describes the project:“This project makes it possible for people from different walks of life and with different abilities to show what we can do together and for audiences to see and hear this. It’s a privilege to be part of such a significant weekend as both a composer and a guitarist.”

Help celebrate our 60th, and enjoy this free birthday treat!
